DeskSpace Program

When I was younger I went to a school where every student had a laptop. Being devious little fiends we liked to play games/watch movies etc. in class. I'm not sure who found it but we got a hold of a software much like this (It was in French so we had a hard time understanding the instructions,) but anyways we got a hold of a software like this and began using it. We would have work open on one of the Desktops and a game or something in the other. When the teacher walked by we would simply turn the screen to the desktop with the work on it. Sadly I was not able to keep the software so I have no clue what happened to it. Just recently I thought of it and tried to find it but I could only find a payed software (There is a 14 day free trial.)

What is DeskSpace?
DeskSpace is virtual desktop software that gives you more space for your windows and icons. You can eliminate desktop clutter by arranging your windows and icons across up to six desktops, all easily reachable by navigating a desktop cube.

DeskSpace gives you separate desktops for each of your day-to-day tasks, and lets you quickly and easily switch between desktops and the applications on them.

DeskSpace lets you have different desktop wallpapers and icons on each desktop. You can also choose a name and picture for each desktop, to make them easier to recognize.

DeskSpace runs on low-end netbooks, high-end desktops, and everything in-between. You can run DeskSpace on up to nine monitors, and it works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

Thanks for this simple tutorial !
Hope you guys found it useful !
Hey guys, I just wanted to quickly write a tutorial about some basic computer security. I, personally, am not as technologically literate as many people think. I know the basics of computer usage, which is far more than my parents, but I'm no expert. That is why I wanted to write a guide like this, something simple that anyone could follow. I am going to assume a few things in this: First, you have Windows 7 installed freshly with no current infections. A fresh install is best. Second, you are a moderate user of the internet. Without further ado . . .

Basic Security Applications

You are going to want a few applications to help you out along the way. First off, you will need two (2) anti-malware programs. This is to ensure that if one misses something, you have a second one to make sure. I personally use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM). Update these as often as they need to be. Run both of these every single day. Once a week minimum, but daily is far more advantageous.

If you torrent, you will want PeerBlock. PeerBlock basically blocks your peers, especially RIAA, the govt, and other unsavory sorts from tracking who you are and what you're downloading. If you don't use PeerBlock, you can almost guarantee getting caught at some point.

For web browsing, you're going to want to use Mozilla Firefox. Other's will probably recommend Google Chrome, but Google has been known to extensively spy on users, and keep their data indefinitely. As for extensions, some good ones would be AdBlock Plus to block ads from displaying, FlashBlock to keep Flash objects from playing and potentially infecting you, HTTPS Everywhere to force websites to use SSL which encrypts your traffic so packet sniffers can't steal your credentials, and NoScript which blocks JavaScript and Java from automatically running which is used to infect many people without their knowledge. These addons, combined with Firefox, will help protect you.

Good Password Practices

It may come as a shock, but many online accounts are compromised simply by brute-force attacks. This is where a program simply forces many possible combination of letters, numbers, and symbols at a website until one of them is the correct password, which unlocks the account. It is relatively easy to stop this, for the most part, however. But remember, nothing is 100%. The best way to protect your online accounts is to use a password manager. I am a huge fan of LastPass because of it's convenience. It may not be the most secure, but it works for my purpose. You will want to go to every account you have online and change the password to something secure (LastPass has a tool where it will generate a random string of numbers, letters, and symbols of any length - use at least 20 characters. 40 is better.). Have LastPass save all of your login credentials and secure your LastPass account with a password you will remember, but is equally difficult to guess. I use Passphra.se for all the passwords I have to remember. Here is a great explanation for why it works so well.

I only have to remember four passwords, total. One to log in to my computer. One for the wifi. One for LastPass. And one for my school accounts (computer, grade checks online, etc.) All of these come from Passphra.se and I tack on a couple easy to remember numbers at the end and make the first letter a capital (not for security, it's just my habit).

Is there anything else?

Make sure your firewall is on.
Run your anti-malware programs every day.
Never give out a password for any reason.
Most of all, use common sense. If you get an email claiming you just won a $20 million Nigerian lottery, it's probably a fake.

I hope you guys enjoyed. If anything I said is false or outdated, please let me know. If there is anything you would like to add, please feel free. This guide is released under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License, which means you can copy, modify, and redistribute it as long as you also allow anyone else to do the same to your copy. It took me about 45 minutes to write this, and it only takes 45 seconds to say thanks!

OK,. in my images it took me 6 minutes- but I had to copy & paste images while I was doing it all,. so it should only take you 5 minutes or less. I've tested this on several XP and Vista machines- and it works on almost all of them, should also work on 7 as well. I hope this helps someone out there :)

Other past results: (Click to View)

1.) Go to http://www.speedtest.net and click the "Begin Test" button.

2.) When it's done testing, click the "Share This Result" button.

3.) They'll give you a link to your test image- open notepad and save the link to a .txt document.

4.) Download this .zip and extract it to your desktop. Scan of file: http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresult...e3f3f31c5e

5.) Open Optimize.exe

6.) Check the "Optimal" radio button, then click the "Apply changes" button:

7.) Check the "Backup" box, then click the "Ok" button:

8.) Click the "Yes" button:

9.) After your computer restarts, go retest your speed and share your results.

That's it and you're all done. With some luck- your internet is hopefully faster now. If it doesn't work- let's set everything back the way it was before. Go ahead and open Optimize.exe again. When it opens- press the "File" button in the top-left corner of the app,. Then select the "Restore backed up settings" option,. and then select the .spg file (it was saved previously on step 7, most likely on your desktop or documents folder)..
1) Create a Hotmail account.
2) Download Gladinet Cloud Desktop from here (Scroll down, it's not the first thing):
http://www.gladinet.com/p/download_cafs.htm
3) Install and when prompted choose Windows live Skydrive.
4) Follow the steps and add different accounts. You should end up with this:

Enjoy your new free Cloud storage :).
1. Click the Start button > Control Panel > Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

[Image: installing-telnet-client-on-vista-1_small.gif]

2. In the Windows Features dialog box, select the Telnet Client check box.

[Image: installing-telnet-client-on-vista-2_small.gif]

3. Click OK. The installation process might take several minutes and when it completes you can begin using the Telnet client.

[Image: installing-telnet-client-on-vista-3_small.gif]

Some of the commands available in Telnet include:

Open or o - Establish a Telnet connection with a host computer or remote server. You can use the full command, open, or abbreviate it to just o. For example, o mail.kuku.co.il 25 will connect your computer to a computer named mail.kuku.co.il using port 25.

Close or c - Close an existing Telnet connection. It can be combined with a host name and port number.

Set - Set the terminal type for the connection, turn on local echo, set authentication to NTLM, set the escape character, and set up logging.

To see which commands are available, type a question mark (?) and then press Enter.

Make Windows XP Genuine

First,
Today, I was a little fag, who didn't know how to pirate lol.

No just kidding.

Anyways,
[Image: H90fM.jpg]

If that happens, one would be thoroughly pissed off.
Yes the little thing in the corner. It doesn't go away either.

It just stays there and pops up on your screen every five minutes.

Well, I found a rather simple way to get rid of the fucker.

It's really simple. And no this is not pirating. You just have to add a registry file.

link to registry

And reboot.

If it still doesn't work. Click your little box. It should now disappear.

Case/Tower
This is known as the computer cabinet, which protects, holds and organize the parts in the computer.
Make sure you clean the case and organize
the cables to improve airflow.

Motherboard
A printed circuit board, with connectors
into which other circuit boards can be slotted.

CPU
CPU is the central processing unit, (GPU)
is the brain of you computer,
that carries commands for you computer.

GPU (Video Card)
GPU is the graphics processing unit,
(GPU) that accelerates 3D or 2D
graphics rendering.

RAM
Random access memory (RAM) works like this,
every time open a program,
it gets loaded from the hard drive into the RAM.
This is because reading data from the
RAM is much faster
than reading from the hard drive.

HDD/Hard Drive
Basically, it works like your brain,
it stores data that you downloaded
from the internet, for ex.
lets say you almost drown when you where little you,
will remember for the rest of your life.
The only big difference is that you can
delete data of your hard drive.

Disk Drive/Optical Drive
A device that allows a computer
to read from and write to computer disks,
with ether a laser light or electromagnetic waves.

SSD/Solid State Drive (Not Required)
The Solid State Drive is
basically ram on you Hard Drive, but a little different.
They save memory, and much faster
then your old Disk Hard Drive.

PSU/Power Supply
The power supply unit (PSU) converts
AC to DC electric,
for the motherboard and all the

Frequently asked questions

What is a multicore CPU?

You can only use operating frequency to compare the ultimate CPU power between two chips of the exact same architecture. So comparing a 3.2Ghz operating frequency of a single core P4 to a 2.56 Ghz speed of a dual core chip is not at all an apples to apples comparison as you've guessed. The "speed" of a CPU that most people refer to is more accurately described as it's overall processing power.

A dual core 2.56 CPU still runs at 2.56Ghz....period. However, it has two "mostly" independent cores that can work on separate tasks at the same time. So while the operating frequency doesn't change, the overall processing power is theoretically doubled. BUT, since there are parts of the CPU architecture that are shared by both cores, the reality is that a Dual core CPU might give you 1.6 times (or so) the overall processing power of a single core at the same operating frequency.

Hyperthreading, without getting overly technical, is a way to try to do the same type of thing with one physical core. Hyperthreading, or "Parallel Processing" tries to create "virtual" cores and separates the processing capability of a single core into multiple tasks ("threads"). You can actually have a dual core (or any number of core) CPU that ALSO has Hyperthreading abilities.

Hey all. I'm going to show you a great way to stop procrastinating on your work or stop forgetting your girlfriend with this non-resource-hogging tip.
No seriously, if you've read to the end, this isn't a troll - It works for me XD

Final Result (1600x900 screenshot):

Since I'm a lazy guy who needs to do his homework, here's a quick explanation.

1. Get on Microsoft Paint. The executable's name is "mspaint.exe", if you want a quick way to load it up.
2. Quickly jot down your note using the paintbrush, pencil, freehand tool or just use your text tool.
3. Set it as your background. I'm sure you know how to do that. (Choose "Center" so you will always keep that ugly background in mind.)

Simple, simple, simple, simple and simple.
