Learn how to install and import free MyBB themes from our website and other’s into your own MyBB forum
The first thing you’re going to need is a MyBB theme to install – awesome styles to find one that suits your forum and download the .ZIP file.
Once you have downloaded the zip file you’ll need to extract it. This can be done using either the default tools in your OS or by using software such as winrar or Winzip. Right click the zip file and select extract files.
Upload the folder than contains all the images to the images/ directory of your MyBB forum. If there is a jscripts folder also upload that to your MyBB forum.
Next, click on the Import Theme tab
From here you should select the Browse button and find the XML file of the style you downloaded. There are also a number of other options:
If you wish, you can add a custom name to the theme – this may be helpful for identification purposes if you plan to edit it a lot later. If no new name is given the one found in the XML file will be used.
Chances are you’ll have to check the Ignore Version Compatibility checkbox to avoid getting an error. The other two checkboxes should be left as is.
You should then click Import theme which will import all the template and style data in the XML file into your forum and install the style for you.
You should see your new theme. To the right click Options followed by Set as Default
You can also chose to Force on Users which will mean all of your members will have their personal choice of theme overridden and be shown your new theme.

A style typically comprises of 2 or 3 parts: an XML file, an images folder and maybe a jscripts folder.Upload the folder than contains all the images to the images/ directory of your MyBB forum. If there is a jscripts folder also upload that to your MyBB forum.
Importing the XML file
Next it’s time to import the XML file. Login to your Admin CP and click on the Templates & Style tab.Next, click on the Import Theme tab

Your new theme is now active, however unless it’s the only theme you have installed it won’t be your default theme yet. Click on the Themes tab after you’ve imported your theme.You should see your new theme. To the right click Options followed by Set as Default
